Which parsley is better - curly or Italian? Or are they both equally effective?
Great parsley dish: Tabbouleh, an Arabic dish consisting of a sea of parsley, diced tomatoes, cracked wheat and lemons. Can eat any time of the day
Tabbouleh is one of my favorites. Parsley, onion, tomatoes, garlic, bulgar, lime juice. I've also juiced parsley with apples.
Tried it....couldn't you have recommended Cilantro or just about anything else in the produce isle but Parsley?
Yikes! Maybe the Italian would be better...the Curly tastes just like you think it will... like something chefs place as a garnish to be pushed aside to get to the "real" food.
All kidding aside....I REALLY hope this works 'cuz it's a struggle.
Technical question: do you swallow the "cud" after chewing or dispose of properly?
Either kind of parsley is beneficial. I usually spit out the cud if it's too hard to swallow. I'd do whatever you're comfortable with.
Adding celery or tomatoes can help the taste, if it's not appealing to you by itself. The taste is supposed to be bitter, as that's the nature of the nutrients. You can also juice a whole bunch of it as well.
Parsley gets listed as both a kidney detoxifier and something to avoid if at risk for kidney stones (for the oxalate). Is it a case of the dose makes the poison?
There is a substantial difference between live parsley and a supplemental concentrated powdered form. While live parsley is safe in virtually unlimited amounts (how much you can really shove in), the processed powder may cause a problem when overused. But for that matter, almost anything concentrated may tax the kidneys in excess and that includes great stuff such as turmeric, B vitamins, amino acids and calcium. Parsley is a risk-free super nourishing food. I’m not aware of any case of “parsley poisoning”. Quite the opposite.

Went specifically with parsley and italian parsley for the last few days and yeah, i think its pretty good.
I like green leafies in general but the parsley does seem to have more of a nice cleansing type feeling.
